CLARK FREEPORT -- Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President Emigdio Tanjuatco III announced recently that seven airlines have expressed interest in looking at the sprawling Clark International Airport (CRK).

Tanjuatco also revealed that 17 airlines participating in the Routes Asia 2016 to be held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on March 6 to 8, 2016 are set to visit the Clark airport on March 5.

CIAC officials are set show the delegates CRK’s facilities and infrastructure in a bid to lure more flights at the 2,367-hectare Civil Aviation Complex.

He said the seven airlines include V-Air, a new Taiwanese low-cost carrier; Jet Star of Singapore; Thai Smile, a regional carrier in Thailand; Rayani Air, a full service airline in Malaysia; Express Air of Indonesia; Air India; and, Airline 4.0 which is a new carrier in the United States, which will also be attending Routes Asia 2016.

“Malaking bagay yung March 5 visit ng mga airlines sa (Clark) airport. Kasi, ito ang mga airlines na sasali sa Routes Asia at siguradong pag-uusapan nila ang Clark airport. At malay natin mag-decide yung iba na tingnan nila ang Clark para sa kanilang flights,” Tanjuatco told reporters during the monthly Pampanga Press Club (PPC) Talk Widus conference held at the Widus Hotel and Casino in the Clark Freeport.

Routes Asia is an essential event for all aviation based companies who wish to conduct business to, from and within the region. The event brings together a range of airlines, airports and tourism authorities, including some of the largest carriers from the whole Asian region.

Organized by UBM Asia, this event offers aviation industry organizations the opportunity to meet with some of the most influential aviation professionals from across the world.

Tanjuatco said CIAC will host the visit of the 17 airlines and will tour the delegates around the Clark International Airport Passenger Terminal Building as well as a tour of the Puning Hot Spring Resort in Capas, Tarlac.

The Clark International Airport is currently a host to Qatar Airways, Asiana Airlines, Dragonair, Jin Air, CEBGO, Tiger Air of Singapore, Air Asia Berhad and Cebu Pacific Air.

“These airlines will now see the Clark airport and hopefully we can lure some of them to try Clark operating at our airport and increase our flights,” Tanjuatco said.
